Awarded for contribution to Touch Football.

Greg Norman is believed to be the longest serving Teacher at The Southport School with 30+ years of service to the School’s sporting community in his Physical Education Teacher role.  He has long been involved in coaching the School’s Rugby, Cricket and Touch Football teams.

But it is for his service to Touch Football on the Gold Coast that Greg is particularly awarded the Pirie Medal.

He has been a player and coach with Gold Coast Touch Association since 1980. In the 1981 season, he was the awarded Best Player – Men’s Open & Representative Player.  He was a south Queensland Regional representative player from 1980 to 2005 and a Queensland State representative player from 1988 to 1994.  He is currently a graded Touch Referee.  

From 1980, Greg coached his wife Kerry’s Open Touch Team to a record 20 premierships.

Greg is a Life Member of the Gold Coach Touch Association and is currently the President of that Association, a position he has held since 2000.
